We are not a law firm

MyLastWill.org is not a law firm and is not a substitute for an attorney. We don't provide legal, tax, investment or financial advice, and using this site doesn't create an attorney-client relationship. Our tools prepare documents from the answers you give, and our articles provide general information that may not fit your situation or reflect the latest changes in the law.

North Carolina and Louisiana

We don't currently prepare wills or codicils for residents of North Carolina, whose law requires online document services to register and have their forms reviewed by a North Carolina attorney, or Louisiana, whose civil-law rules for wills differ. Residents of those states can still use our gift wording and account guidance with their attorney.

Your responsibility for your documents

You are responsible for your answers, for reviewing your documents, and for signing them in the way your state requires. Laws differ from state to state and change over time. We strongly recommend having an attorney licensed in your state review your documents, especially if your estate is large or your situation is complex.

Charitable gifts

Descriptions of causes, programs and estimated impact are our good-faith summaries of public research. They are estimates, not guarantees. Recommendations for specific organizations may change over time as evidence changes.

No warranty

The site and its tools are provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, MyLastWill is not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site or any document it helps you prepare.

Using the site

You may use the site and the documents it creates for your own personal, non-commercial planning. Please don't misuse the site, interfere with it, or copy its content for resale.
